Purpose: Literature review for preparing a grant proposal. 

Presenter: Ms. Elizabeth Sanders, Assis.Professor, Director of Learning & Research at the Mary and John Gray Library.


February 4

Workshop on Writing a Compelling Paper:
Time: 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Location: Galloway bldg., Galloway 108

Purpose: Writing a successful grant proposal or a narrative (i.e., SURF proposal, research paper for the EXPO 2025 Paper Competition, a manuscript for a professional journal).

Presenter: Mrs. Casey Ford, Assistant Director, Team Lead for Faculty Success, CITL

Panel Discussion on “Preparing a successful grant proposal”
Time: 3:30 – 4 p.m.

Student winners and mentors will share their experience in writing a successful proposal.

Mid-term report - Meeting with the Director of O.U.R. and sharing a progress report.

Deadline for submitting FMA applications (by 11:59 p.m.).


April 10

Deadline for abstract submission to EXPO 2026 by 11:59 p.m. (with both STEM and HASBSEB participation at the undergraduate and graduate level)

Deadline for submission to EXPO 2026 Paper Competition by 11:59 p.m. (no deadline extension)

April 19-20

SURF Orientation
Time: 2 - 5 p.m.

Mandatory presence for SURF grant winners and faculty mentors on one of these days only.

Late deadline for abstract submission to EXPO 2026 (the presentations will be introduced in the conference's program based on the Organizing Committee's decision) – by 6 p.m.
